A Professor of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, USA, Omofolabo Ajayi-Soyinka, has scored the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, high based on its programmes and projects. Professor Ajayi-Soyinka stated that the University is really achieving its vision
“To be foremost in expanding the frontiers of knowledge, and be most innovative in disseminating knowledge towards advancing the cause of humanity.”
Speaking during a visit to KWASU on Thursday, July 10, 2014, the don who teaches at the Department of Women’s Studies/Theatre and Film, University of Kansas, said she was impressed with the achievements recorded by KWASU in less than five years of its existence.
While stating that she has been following the steady progress of the University since its establishment, Professor Ajayi-Soyinka described the Institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, as a visionary leader, committed to academic excellence.
The Kansas University don was accompanied by the Director, Centre for International Education (CIE), University of Ilorin, Professor O.A. Mokuolu and top members of the Centre.
Responding, the Academic Coordinator to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sakah Mahmud who received the scholar and her entourage on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor thanked her for the visit and for her confidence in the University. Prof. Mahmud was supported by the Coordinator to the VC, Research, Industry and Community Development, Professor Funsho Oluleye, during the visit.
