Oyedepo, others to be honoured for educational growth

The Chancellor, Covenant University and Landmark University, Bishop David Oyedepo; the founder, Al-Hikmah University, Alhaji Raimi Oladimeji and the traditional ruler of Kwoi, His Royal Majesty Jonathan Maude, will be honoured today (Saturday) by the Old Boys Association of the Igbaja Teachers’ College/ECWA Secondary School, Igbaja, Kwara State.
The Chairman, 70th anniversary celebration committee of the association, Mr. Olaitan Makanjuola ,in a media briefing on Friday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, said the trio would be honoured for their contributions to educational development and nation building.
He urged the Kwara State Government to assist in the upgrade of the school’s infrastructure, adding that the old boys planned to raise N100m for the reclamation of the school’s dilapidated infrastructure.
A former Kwara State Deputy Governor, Chief Joel Ogundeji, who is a member of the Old Boys Association and the General Overseer of Abundant Life Gospel Church, Rev. Jane Onaolapo, said insecurity and corruption were inhibiting development in Nigeria.
